In Washington, D.C., a female reporter (Kate Beckinsale) faces a possible jail sentence because writes an explosive story about a government scandal that outing a covert CIA agent (Vera Farmiga). When a special government prosecutor (Matt Dillon) demands she divulge her source, she refuses and is sent to jail.
